2019 Maximum Limit Update
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced 2019 FSA contribution limits which increased the amount participants may contribute to a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) or a Limited Expense Health Care FSA (LEX HCFSA). For the 2019 benefit period, you can contribute up to a maximum of $2,700 - an increase of $50 from the 2018 benefit period.
The minimum annual election for each FSA remains unchanged at $100. In addition, the Dependent Care FSA maximum annual contribution limit did not change, and it remains at $5,000 per household or $2,500 if married, filing separately.
Those enrolled in 2019 FSA programs can update their contribution elections in their FSAFEDS online account. All changes must be submitted by Monday, December 10, 2018 at midnight ET.
