Claims Deadline Reminder

Now is the time to make sure you have submitted all your 2021 Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS) claims. All claims for the 2021 benefit period must be received no later than 11:59 p.m., Eastern Time, on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Any 2021 claims received after this time will not be reimbursed. Do not miss a savings opportunity!

Important Reminders

• The Health Care FSA (HCFSA) and Limited Expense Health Care FSA (LEX HCFSA) allow you to carry over any unused funds into the 2022 benefit period, but you need to submit your claims for 2021 eligible expenses by Saturday, April 30, 2022, or they will not be reimbursed.
  • To be eligible for carryover, you must meet the following requirements:
    • Active participation on the last day of the 2021 Health Care FSA and Limited Expense Health Care FSA plan year, with a remaining balance.
    • Re-enrollment in either a Health Care FSA or the Limited Expense Health Care FSA during Open Season for the 2022 benefit period.
    • The carryover amount is available at the beginning of the 2022 benefit period. Claims with dates of service incurred during 2021 are reimbursed from the 2021 benefit period first. Once the 2021 account is depleted, claims with 2021 dates of service will pay from the carryover balance, until the prior year deadline.
    • To allow for reimbursement of prior year expenses claimed by the April 30 deadline, the carryover balance will not move to the current year account until late May. We will pay any new expenses from the 2022 account first.
• Be sure to submit your claims for your 2020 Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA) before the deadline. All claims for eligible 2020 DCFSA expenses incurred between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021 must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Any 2020 DCFSA claims received after this time will not be reimbursed.
• You may continue to incur expenses for your 2021 DCFSA through December 31, 2022.

• To be sure you have not missed filing any eligible expenses, just check the claims payments in your online account against your 2021 receipts. Log in now to check your claims and payments.
• For Pick and Process paperless reimbursement (HCFSA and LEX HCFSA only), be sure that you have selected all your eligible expenses and scheduled them for payment.
