Save Money on Back to School With FSAFEDS
With Fall just around the corner, now is a great time to make the most of your Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with eligible expenses related to getting your children ready to go back to school. Even if school is not held regularly, now is a great time to check on your children's health. Many of these expenses are eligible for reimbursement from your Health Care FSA (HCFSA). Eligible products and services include:
- Physical Exams
- Dental and vision exams
- Ice packs
- First Aid kits
Taking care of your child's health is only one part of preparing to go back to school. You may also have dependent care services such as before and after school care, babysitting or nanny expenses which are eligible for reimbursement from your Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA). Remember, you can enroll in a DCFSA or change your current DCFSA elections when you experience a qualifying life event (QLE), such as a change in child care or elder care provider, a change in cost, or a change in coverage
If you need help determining what expenses are eligible, you can view the eligible expenses lists.
