What is Changing?

What is Changing?
you will soon be required to log in to your Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS) account via the secure site Login.gov. You will no longer use your FSAFEDS-specific username and password to log into your FSAFEDS account.

Why is This Change Occurring?
FSAFEDS is required to make this change to meet stricter government security requirements around online account access.

What You Need to Do
Before December 13, 2023

  • create an account at Login.gov, if you do not already have one. You will need to use an email address that only you can access (no family-shared accounts, for example) and create a password. You may add multiple email addresses to your Login.gov, so please make sure to add all email addresses listed on your FSAFEDS account to your Login.gov account.
  • If you already have an account at Login.gov, ensure that the email address(es) on your FSAFEDS account are added or updated to match what you have in your Login.gov account.
Prior to the End of the Year
  • When you log in to your FSAFEDS account, you will be directed to Login.gov to enter your login.gov email and password to access your FSAFEDS account.
  • The first time you use your login.gov credentials you will be required to authenticate your FSAFEDS account.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
